In October 2003¸ the largest financial group in South-Eastern Europe, National Bank of Greece (NBG) Group, bought the majority package at Banca Romaneasca, having at present 99,279% of its share capital.

Through NBG financial support, Banca Romaneasca capital has been substantially increased, reaching at present around 200 million euro. Banca Romaneasca has 105 branches, out of which 30 are located in Bucharest.

NBG Group is the largest financial group in Greece, having an experience of over 160 years of activity. It has been quoted at Athens Stock Exchange since 1880 and starting October 1999 it has been quoted at New York Stock Exchange. NBG Group has a strong presence in 13 countries, a developing network of more than 1.000 branches and 21.000 employees.

Besides specific banking activities, the National Bank of Greece Group performs a series of other financial operations in Romania. Among the representative companies under National Bank of Greece control in Romania, we can count: NBG Securities Romania, the Hellenic-Romanian Insurance-Reinsurance company Garanta and NBG Leasing IFN.

Banca Romaneasca is Lloyd's insured

Prudential management is highlighted by the initiative of the bank's top management to sign an insurance policy, with famous institutions on the London insurance market, under the aegis of Lloyd's Group, as starting from 1997. Consequently, Banca Romaneasca was the first Romanian bank insured against fraud, errors and omissions.
Deloitte has been nominated as an independent audit company.
